Bulk Cargo Information

Bulk cargo is classed as a shipment that can be transported unpackaged in large quantities. Our cargo is usually dropped or poured, with a spout or shovel bucket, as a liquid or as a mass of relatively small solids (e.g. shingle, coal, shredded tyre) into a bulk carrier ship’s hold, railroad car or tanker truck/trailer/semi trailer body. Smaller quantities still considered “bulk” can be boxed (drummed) and palletised. Bulk cargo is classified as liquid or dry. The cost of moving bulk commodities depends on the density of the commodity we are shipping; this is very important information as this directly affects the size of the vessel required to ship the commodity at the port.
